Ford Keeps CarPlay, Adds Native Apple Maps to 2027 EVs

Ford said it will integrate Apple Maps natively into its 2027 electric vehicles, keeping Apple CarPlay support while adding direct mapping for EV routing and BlueCruise driver-assist.

The native integration means Apple Maps can access vehicle data for range and route planning, including charging station locations, without requiring a phone connection. The system will also tie into Ford's BlueCruise hands-free driving, offering route-based activation.

The move follows a broader push by automakers to embed Apple's ecosystem, as EV buyers increasingly expect native smartphone integration. Ford's first 2027 EV models with the feature are expected to reach dealers in late 2026.
