The DeFi portfolio tracker Zapper is shutting down on August 3, 2026. Users have until then to export their data. The company cited no specific reason for the closure.
Zapper, the decentralized finance portfolio tracker, will shut down on August 3, 2026. The company said it will close its website and mobile apps. The API will also be shut down. The closure ends a run of nearly seven years.
The platform let users connect their wallets and see a unified view of their DeFi positions across multiple blockchains. That included balances and lending positions. Zapper did not give a reason for the shutdown. It said it will provide instructions for users to export their data before the cutoff.
Zapper launched in 2019, during the DeFi boom. It quickly became a popular tool for users who wanted a single dashboard for their holdings. The platform supported Ethereum and other chains. Its API was used by developers to integrate portfolio data into their own applications. The mobile app gave users on-the-go access.
The shutdown does not put user funds at risk. Zapper is a read-only interface. It never holds private keys or assets. Users simply lose the dashboard view and historical data. The company said it will keep services running until the August 3 deadline. After that, all access terminates.
The crypto tooling sector has seen its share of closures. Several portfolio trackers and analytics platforms have shut down or been acquired after the market cycle turned. Zapper’s closure is one of the more significant because of its long history and user base. Now is the time to export data.
Competitors like Zerion and DeBank offer similar functionality. Users can migrate their portfolio tracking to those platforms. Zapper did not announce any partnership or data migration deal.
The August 3 date gives users about two months to prepare. Zapper advised users to check its blog for detailed instructions. The company said it will share the export process in the coming weeks.
