Katy Perry's new single 'Watch It Burn' drops June 26. The song, previewed on Instagram, reflects a tough year and will stream on Apple Music, boosting AAPL's services angle.
Katy Perry is teasing her new single "Watch It Burn," set for release June 26. The singer, 41, shared a preview on Instagram on Tuesday, showing her singing in a rage room while wielding a baseball bat. The lyrics include lines like "You know I gave and I gave / Now I'm giving up" and "Tonight's the night / I light a match."
In an interview on the UnFamous podcast, Perry said the song reflects a "tough" past year and her struggle with anger. "I have not given myself permission to be angry my whole life," she said.
The single will be Perry's first new music of 2026, following "Bandaids" from November 2025. The track will be available on streaming platforms including Apple Music, a service of Apple Inc. (AAPL). Perry made her red carpet debut with new boyfriend, former Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau, at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this month. She split from actor Orlando Bloom last year.
