X launched Big Charts for crypto and stocks on iOS and web, adding real-time prices, volume, and multi-timeframe views. The upgrade targets trader engagement ahead of X Money.
Elon Musk's X rolled out a major upgrade to its financial data tools on June 12, launching Big Charts for both cryptocurrency and stock investors. The feature, now available on iOS and web, expands the platform's Smart Cashtags experience with larger, interactive real-time charts.
X Product Head Nikita Bier announced the update, saying the company built it in response to user demand for bigger market charts. Users can add Big Charts to posts by using Cashtags and expanding the chart before publishing. When searching for a Cashtag or supported contract address, X displays matching cryptocurrencies and stocks with live market information. Tapping a Cashtag pulls up related discussions and a detailed price chart.
The charts show real-time prices, percentage changes, trading volume, and multiple timeframe views. Supported cryptocurrencies include Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), XRP, Solana (SOL), Dogecoin (DOGE), HYPE, BONK, USDT, and USDC. Major stocks such as Tesla (TSLA), Nvidia (NVDA), Strategy (MSTR), and Coinbase (COIN) are also covered.
Bier said the platform plans to introduce technical analysis tools in future updates, with additional features expected soon. X currently limits Smart Cashtags to three per post.
The launch comes as anticipation builds around X Money, the company's upcoming payments platform. Market observers have speculated that cryptocurrencies like Dogecoin and Bitcoin could eventually be integrated into the service. X believes its expanding financial ecosystem, including Smart Cashtags and Big Charts, could strengthen engagement among crypto traders and investors while positioning the platform as a growing hub for real-time market insights.
For traders already using X for market chatter, the upgrade means less tab-switching. The real test will be whether the technical analysis tools, when they arrive, offer enough depth to pull users away from dedicated platforms like TradingView. X's bet is that convenience beats feature depth for the casual trader. The next update will show whether that bet holds.
