Vedanta Aluminium Metal Ltd has taken its digital marketplace, Vedanta Metal Bazaar, outside India for the first time. The platform, which lets buyers order aluminium products online, is now open to customers across Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas.
Rajesh Kumar, CEO of Vedanta Aluminium, said the expansion marks a milestone in "redefining aluminium procurement through digital innovation." He called it the first Indian metals platform of its kind to enter global markets. The company said the move strengthens ties with international customers while reinforcing India's role in global trade.
In the 2025-26 fiscal year alone, the platform processed transactions worth nearly $4.1 billion, or over ₹38,000 crore, and completed more than 23,000 orders. Over 550 small and medium enterprises in India use VMB regularly, alongside large original equipment manufacturers.
The launch was marked by a global customer webinar with over 600 participants. Arvind Gupta, procurement head of Paramount Comm Ltd, said the platform has made aluminium procurement "significantly faster, more transparent and easier to manage."
Vedanta Metal Bazaar operates 24/7 with automated workflows designed to reduce supply chain complexity. It lists more than 1,000 products and offers price booking linked to live LME hedging. Customers get real-time visibility into ledger balances and invoices, the company said. Upcoming features include one-click access to export documents such as bills of lading and packing lists, along with AI-driven virtual assistants for instant support.
