Former Speaker Romualdez submitted sworn statements from 25 former aides of Rep. Co denying cash deliveries, including a recantation by ex-soldier Guteza.
Former Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez filed a supplemental counter-affidavit with the Office of the Ombudsman on Aug. 20, attaching sworn statements from 25 former drivers and security aides of former Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Zaldy Co.
The filing, made through spokesman and legal counsel Ade Fajardo, includes a recantation from former soldier and Co security aide Orly Guteza. Fajardo said the former Co personnel denied delivering money to Romualdez or any other politician or government official.
The move comes as part of Romualdez's response to allegations that have not been detailed in public filings. The Ombudsman has not issued a statement on the submission.
