Eric Schmidt lists superyacht Whisper for $172.5M

Eric Schmidt is selling his superyacht. The former Google CEO put Whisper on the market for $172.5 million, according to a listing.

Schmidt bought the 95-meter Lürssen-built vessel from Shahid Khan in 2023 for about $161 million. It was delivered as Kismet in 2014. A retrofit was completed last year.

The yacht features a master cabin with a fireplace, a spa with a cold plunge and steam room, a movie theater, and a swimming pool. It holds 12 guests and a crew of 27.

Why Schmidt is selling is not clear. His representative declined to comment, and the listing agent did not respond to a request for comment.

One possibility: Schmidt nearly bought a different yacht, the 81-meter Alfa Nero seized from a sanctioned Russian oligarch, but backed out amid legal challenges in 2023. Whisper may have been a fallback.

For buyers without nine figures, Whisper is available to charter at $1.4 million a week.
