Chamath Palihapitiya's AI-native software factory 8090 raised $135M in a Series A led by Salesforce, with participation from WNDR, Craft Ventures, TPB, and others.
8090, the AI-native software factory founded by Chamath Palihapitiya, has raised $135 million in a Series A round led by Salesforce, the company announced July 8. The Redwood City, California-based startup said the round also included WNDR, Craft Ventures, TPB, and LAUNCH, plus angel investors Nikesh Arora, Cliff Robbins, Adam D'Angelo, Shyam Ravindran, Thomas Laffont, and Abhi Arun.
Palihapitiya, the former Facebook executive and CEO of Social Capital, launched 8090 as a platform built for teams of human developers and AI agents to collaboratively build and modify enterprise software. The company said the fresh capital will be used to scale that platform and expand its reach.
The funding comes as venture investors continue to pour money into AI-powered development tools, betting that the next generation of enterprise software will be built by human-AI teams. 8090's platform is designed to reduce the time and complexity of enterprise software changes, the company said.
The round follows a string of large AI-focused venture deals, including LeapXpert's $180M raise from Riverwood Capital.
