Boeing named Travis Sullivan president of its Southeast Asia operations, effective July 3. Sullivan will oversee the company's commercial, defense, and services business across the region, Boeing said in a statement.
Sullivan has been with Boeing for 25 years. He most recently served as vice president of business development for Boeing Global Services in the Asia-Pacific region. The appointment comes as Boeing works to rebuild its commercial jetliner business in Asia, a market where Airbus has gained share in recent years.
The region accounts for roughly 40% of global aviation growth over the next two decades, according to Boeing's own market forecast. Sullivan's predecessor, Alex Feldman, held the role for about three years before moving to a different position within the company.
Boeing's Southeast Asia operations include sales and support for commercial aircraft, defense contracts, and aftermarket services. The company has assembly and delivery operations in China and maintains a regional headquarters in Singapore.
The appointment does not change Boeing's financial outlook or production targets. The company is scheduled to report second-quarter earnings July 31. Boeing shares have fallen about 30% this year, weighed by production issues and delivery delays on its 737 Max and 787 programs.
Boeing's Alpha Score is 55 out of 100, a Mixed rating on AlphaScala's proprietary scoring system. The score reflects the company's strong market position in commercial aerospace balanced against ongoing operational and regulatory headwinds.
