Aon hires Bob Reville from Moody's to lead casualty catastrophe risk capital, targeting PFAS and social inflation exposures with predictive analytics.
Alpha Score of 71 reflects strong overall profile with moderate momentum, moderate value, strong quality, strong sentiment.
Aon named Bob Reville Senior Managing Director and Casualty Catastrophe Market Leader for its Risk Capital business, effective July 15.
Reville joins from Moody's and previously co-founded casualty analytics firm Praedicat, where he was CEO. His mandate is to help Aon's insurer clients assess emerging liability exposures – PFAS contamination, social inflation, other large-scale casualty events – and identify growth opportunities.
He reports to Amanda Lyons, Global Product Leader for Reinsurance Solutions.
"Bob brings deep expertise in extreme liability risk and advanced analytics that will help our clients better understand and respond to exposures driven by large-scale liability events," Lyons said.
Reville framed the role as building a casualty catastrophe market for latent risk that mirrors the property catastrophe market. "Aon's ability to connect capital to risk supports this ambition," he said.
The hire signals Aon's push to expand its casualty analytics and capital-markets capabilities, a segment where insurers face rising uncertainty from court rulings, regulatory shifts, and environmental claims. Reville's background in predictive modeling and extreme-event liability gives Aon a named expert to pitch to clients wrestling with those exposures.
Aon's Risk Capital business structures insurance-linked securities and other capital-market solutions for insurers. Adding a casualty catastrophe leader suggests the firm sees a gap between the mature property-catastrophe market and the less-developed casualty side – a gap Reville's Praedicat experience was built to close.
For clients, the question is whether Aon can replicate the property-catastrophe playbook for liability risk, where loss development is slower and legal outcomes harder to model. Reville's appointment is a bet that the answer is yes.
