Anthropic token skids 28% after company voids share transfers

A formal warning from Anthropic about unauthorized share transfers sent the PreStocks token into a selloff over the past month, dropping roughly 28% to around $697 as of June 15. The token, which offers synthetic exposure to Anthropic shares on the Solana blockchain, now trades at an implied valuation of roughly $1.14 trillion – a level far above anything private market transactions have supported.
Anthropic issued the warning around May 12, stating that unapproved share transfers, including tokenized instruments, are considered void. The company made its position explicit: the tokens do not confer any legitimate claim on actual equity. Within the first week after the announcement, the ANTHROPIC token fell about 34%.
The token operates through PreStocks, a platform that structures synthetic exposure to private company equity via a Special Purpose Vehicle. Investors who cannot access Anthropic’s private shares directly instead buy tokens that theoretically track the company’s valuation. The token’s market cap sits around $6.65 million with a supply of roughly 9,550 tokens.
