The new $150 credit for U.S. Squarespace purchases covers most of a basic annual plan. Cardholders can stack it with portal cash back or use it on Google Workspace for a year of Gemini Pro.
American Express added a $150 statement credit for Squarespace to its Business Gold Card. Cardholders who enroll can get up to $150 back each calendar year on eligible U.S. purchases made directly with Squarespace, including its Acuity Scheduling subsidiary.
The credit shaves $150 off the card's $375 annual fee. A basic annual Squarespace plan runs $192, so the credit covers most of that. Some cardholders are stacking it with TopCashback, which currently offers $50.50 for new Squarespace members through its portal.
One reader pointed out a practical use case: the credit applies to Google Workspace subscriptions bought through Squarespace, which bundle Google Gemini Pro. That gives cardholders who don't run a site a reason to use the credit – essentially paying for a year of the AI tool.
Enrollment runs through the Amex portal. Only the Basic Card Member or an authorized account manager can enroll. Purchases by the enrolled member and any employee card members on the account count toward the $150 annual cap. The credit works on squarespace.com and acuityscheduling.com within the U.S. and its territories, as long as Squarespace is the merchant of record.
Subscription purchases auto-renew. Annual plans renew each year unless canceled; monthly plans renew each month. Squarespace charges the then-applicable fee plus taxes on each renewal date. Statement credits post 6–8 weeks after the eligible purchase hits the account. If the merchant delays submitting the transaction or uses a different transaction date, the purchase might not count toward that calendar year's benefit.
Amex has been layering targeted credits onto its premium cards to keep spending on them. The Squarespace credit joins existing Business Gold perks like 4x points on select categories and a $12.95 monthly credit for WeWork. For a cardholder already using Squarespace, the $150 effectively drops the effective annual fee to $225.
