Earn up to 11x AAdvantage miles and Loyalty Points on eligible vacation packages. Elite members get higher multiples. Separate $150 Jamaica discount available through July 31, 2026.
American Airlines is running a limited-time promotion on its vacation packages that could meaningfully accelerate AAdvantage mileage balances and elite status progress. Through an undisclosed end date, AAdvantage members earn up to 11x miles and Loyalty Points on eligible American Airlines Vacations bookings.
The earning rate depends on elite status. Base members get 5 AAdvantage miles and 5 Loyalty Points per dollar spent on the package price, excluding taxes and fees. Elite tiers see higher multiples, with top-tier Executive Platinum members earning the full 11x rate. The miles and Loyalty Points post after travel is completed.
Loyalty Points are the currency American uses to determine elite status qualification. A promotion like this effectively lets a traveler earn redeemable miles and status-trackable points from the same dollar, which is unusual. Most airline bonus offers target one or the other.
Separately, American is offering a flat $150 discount on packages to Jamaica using the promo code JAMAICASUN2026. That offer requires a minimum 4-night stay and a package price of at least $2,500. Bookings must be made by July 31, 2026, for travel between July 3, 2026, and April 30, 2027. Eligible destinations include Kingston, Montego Bay, and Ocho Rios.
American Airlines Vacations packages bundle a flight with a hotel or rental car. The airline says the packages use unpublished fares, which can undercut booking the components separately. Travelers can also pay with AAdvantage miles or split the cost into 12 monthly payments, though the installment option carries interest.
The promotion applies to the package price before taxes and fees. That is standard for airline vacation bonus offers, it means the headline 11x multiple applies to a smaller base than the total checkout amount.
For a traveler already planning a trip, the math is straightforward. A $3,000 package booked by a base member yields 15,000 miles and 15,000 Loyalty Points. An Executive Platinum member on the same package earns 33,000 of each. That is roughly half a domestic round-trip award in miles, plus a meaningful chunk of the 200,000 Loyalty Points needed for mid-tier status.
The offer runs through an undisclosed date. American has not said when the elevated earning window closes.
