Affirm and Shopify have launched Shop Pay Installments in Australia, the fourth market for the buy now, pay later offering. Eligible Australian shoppers can split purchases into biweekly or monthly payments with interest-free or interest-bearing options, and see the total before committing, according to a press release.

The offering was already available in the U.S. and Canada, and later in the U.K. Australian merchants can enable it in the Shopify admin dashboard.

“Bringing Shop Pay Installments to Australia unlocks even more flexibility and choice, helping our merchants continue to meet consumers where they are and how they like to shop,” Rohit Mishra, vice president of product, payments and cross-border at Shopify, said in the release.

“In partnership with Shopify, Affirm built Shop Pay Installments for the future, a way to pay with even more flexible terms and no late fees, ever,” Nitin Kashid, Australia country manager at Affirm, said in the release.

Shopify and Affirm first launched Shop Pay Installments in the U.S. in June 2021. They expanded the partnership in February 2025 to include Canada and the U.K., with Canada going live in April 2025.

Affirm’s gross merchandise volume rose 36% year over year to $14.1 billion in its fiscal fourth quarter, while transactions rose 41% to 53 million.
