AlphaScala Daily: UK CPI on deck, NKE cluster buy stands out
Wednesday, June 17, 2026
Good morning.
UK CPI lands this morning and it's the one print with real timing risk on a thin calendar; sterling sits at 1.34 ahead of it. Crypto softened overnight, with ETH off 1.6% to 1,763 and BTC down 1.25% near 64,800, while gold holds above 4,300. On the tape, four Nike insiders bought a net $2.17M over 30 days, the loudest of yesterday's clusters, with smaller buys at TSM and SPG. Grupo Cibest (CIB) tops the model at 82, and Rep. David Taylor picked up Alphabet (GOOGL) while trimming Amazon. Let's dive in.
