Zambia Police Arrest Six With Machetes, Summon Sean Tembo

Chilabi said the suspects face a charge of possessing offensive weapons. He appealed for opposition figure Sean Tembo to report to Chelstone Police Station or any other station to assist with the ongoing investigation.

Officers are conducting stop-and-search operations across the capital and other areas ahead of elections, Chilabi said. He noted that political parties had 90 days to campaign and urged supporters not to harass voters.

Police also responded to incidents in Matero's George Compound and in Chongwe, both now calm. Chilabi said the situation is generally calm countrywide. He asked political parties to allow voters to exercise their rights under Article 46 of the constitution.
