A woman in South Wales says she won £12 million (about Rs 153.65 crore) on the National Lottery but never received the money. Her ticket was thrown away after a shop's checking machine failed to flag it as a winner, she told local media.
The claimant, who played the lottery for 20 years, said the machine gave no indication the ticket held a prize. She only discovered the win later by checking the numbers herself. The ticket had already been discarded.
National Lottery operator Allwyn is investigating. The company did not say how long the review would take. If the jackpot is approved, the woman plans to use part of the winnings for a trip to New Zealand to attend the British and Irish Lions tour in 2029.
