Wolf Street founder Wolf Richter takes a stage hike in the Alps with his brother through June. Sporadic internet access means occasional articles. Back July 1.
Wolf Street founder and editor Wolf Richter is taking a break from the corner office. He's headed into the Alps for a stage hike with his brother, starting at the edge of Germany and moving into the Austrian section of the range. The shop is partially closed through July 1.
Richter said he will have sporadic internet access in the evenings and mornings local time, when he plans to check comments. If jetlag turns him into a night owl, he might write an article or two. "So don't be totally shocked when an article pops out of nowhere," he wrote.
This is the first time Richter has taken a mostly-off period in the 14 years since he launched Wolf Street and its predecessor. He described himself as having "the worst-ever boss" but said he finally got that boss to relent after months of idle threats, inept cajoling, and useless brown-nosing.
Richter and his brother haven't hiked together in 30 years. Both are no longer the youngest dudes. "So now is the time," Richter said. He wished readers all the best till then.
Wolf Street will continue publishing, though at a reduced cadence. Richter encouraged readers to enjoy the site and consider supporting it via donation during his absence. The mug is still out.
