Winston leads Giants to 26-3 preseason win over Dolphins

Jameis Winston threw for 150 yards and ran for a touchdown as the New York Giants crushed the Miami Dolphins 26-3 in a preseason game Saturday night at Hard Rock Stadium.
Winston, the Giants' backup quarterback, completed 15 of 21 passes over two quarters. First-stringer Jaxson Dart was among the many starters rested by both teams. The Giants also held out running back Cam Skattebo, wide receiver Malik Nabers, and edge rushers Brian Burns, Abdul Carter and Kayvon Thibodeaux.
The Dolphins sat starting quarterback Malik Willis, running back De'Von Achane, four of their five starting offensive linemen, and edge rushers Chop Robinson and Josh Uche. Defensive tackle Zach Sieler and other defensive starters also watched from the sideline.
Winston engineered an eight-play, 83-yard scoring drive on the Giants' first possession. Kicker Dominic Zvada added two first-half field goals. Running back Devin Singletary punched in a 13-yard touchdown run about five minutes before halftime.
New York led 20-3 at the break and outgained Miami 248-87 in the first half. The Giants held a 15-3 edge in first downs over the first two quarters and dominated time of possession 24:42 to 5:18 in the second half. Total yardage finished 390-102 in favor of the Giants.
