Uttar Pradesh's BRICS exports hit $5.36 billion in FY2025-26, driven by machinery and gems. MSME schemes and parks may boost formalization, benefiting stock watchlists.
Uttar Pradesh exported $5.36 billion to BRICS member and partner countries in the 2025-26 financial year, the state government said Friday. MSME Minister Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary told the BRICS MSME Forum in Agra that machinery, garments, leather, carpets, and precious stones make up the export basket.
Of the total, $3.938 billion went to BRICS member nations. Another $1.429 billion went to partner countries. The three-day forum brought together officials from BRICS nations and Indian MSME representatives.
Chaudhary said Uttar Pradesh's MSME sector includes about 96 lakh units employing roughly 1.65 crore people. The export numbers reflect the manufacturing scale of these small and medium enterprises.
The government highlighted several programs supporting exports. The One District One Product scheme provided margin money assistance of around Rs 897 crore to more than 20,000 people. It generated 3.16 lakh jobs. The Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana gave modern toolkits and training to over 4.41 lakh traditional artisans.
A separate Chief Minister Youth Entrepreneur Development Campaign offers interest-free loans with a target of 10 lakh new micro units over ten years. The PLEDGE scheme is developing MSME parks in 12 districts to improve infrastructure.
The state's MSME schemes target the bottlenecks small exporters face, including credit access and physical infrastructure. ODOP connects local producers to global supply chains. The PLEDGE parks aim to lower logistics costs, the government said.
The BRICS MSME Forum in Agra ended Friday. Chaudhary said the event helped link UP's traditional crafts with buyers from member nations.
