WattCycle unveils a 10 kWh balcony solar storage system at Intersolar Europe 2026. The plug-and-play unit targets Germany's fast-growing apartment solar market with AI-based charging and grid-tariff arbitrage.
WattCycle is bringing a 10 kWh balcony solar storage system to Intersolar Europe in Munich next week, aiming at the German market where apartment-dwellers are the fastest-growing segment of residential solar buyers.
The Shenzhen-based company, which has 16 years in energy storage, will show the all-in-one unit at Booth C4.251 in Hall C4 from June 23-25. The system stores up to 10 kWh and offers bidirectional power at 2.5 kW or 5 kW. That capacity is high for a balcony setup – most plug-in balcony systems in Germany max out at 800 W inverter output under current regulations, though the 5 kW option suggests WattCycle is positioning for a rule change or for off-grid use.
The unit runs on a plug-and-play design with an integrated microinverter interface and an AC charging port. Users can charge from the grid during low-tariff periods and discharge when prices rise. An AI-based scheduler automates the cycle.
Germany's balcony solar market has grown fast since the 2024 Solarpaket I law simplified registration and raised the inverter cap. Installations hit roughly 400,000 units in 2025, according to industry estimates. Most of those systems lack storage, which creates a retrofit opportunity for companies like WattCycle.
The company will also show a 48V 628Ah home battery with 32.15 kWh of capacity for larger residential PV setups, and a compact 12V 314Ah LiFePO4 battery sized for under-vehicle-seat installation in RVs and camper vans.
WattCycle's address is in Bao'an District, Shenzhen. The company did not disclose pricing or European distribution partners in the announcement.
