Filmmaker Vignesh Shivan has publicly addressed his fractured relationship with actor Dhanush, expressing deep personal regret over their recent fallout. The tension between the two stems from a legal disagreement involving a documentary centered on the wedding of Shivan’s wife, Nayanthara.
Despite the current conflict, Shivan spoke candidly about his past professional and personal history with the actor. He highlighted their collaboration on the film 'Velaiilla Pattadhari' (VIP) and revealed that he viewed Dhanush as a mentor figure, noting that he saw a "fatherly presence" in him during their time working together. Shivan expressed feelings of embarrassment regarding the current state of their dynamic, emphasizing the high level of admiration he continues to hold for the actor.
