Veteran of three wars fights to reclaim land he says was fraudulently sold

Thakur said they met the Tehsildar and the Patwari and explained that someone had impersonated his father. The impersonator claimed to be 75 years old. Chunnilal is 90. The Tehsildar declined to cancel the mutation, telling the family to go to court, Thakur alleged.

No FIR was initially registered, Thakur said. "Only after the SP intervened was an FIR finally lodged at the Kotwali Police Station," he told ANI. The Superintendent of Police assured the family that legal action would follow.

Chunnilal's health has worsened during the ordeal. "My father's condition has deteriorated so much that he was falling asleep even while giving fingerprints," Thakur said. "He is a heart patient, yet he remains determined to fight this fourth battle."

Additional Superintendent of Police Revatdan confirmed a case has been registered at Kotwali. "An ex-army man came to us and told us that he has a Murba here which some people have impersonated and got registered in the name of someone else," Revatdan said. "After completing the investigation properly, whatever action is required will be taken."

Chunnilal has asked for his case to be transferred to Himachal Pradesh so he can attend hearings more easily. Thakur appealed to the Himachal Pradesh government for help, saying the family has already spent lakhs of rupees. "My father has fought three wars for the country," Thakur said. "This is the fourth war he is fighting to protect his land."
