Varo Money Offers $0.24/Gallon Cashback on Gas

Varo Money rolled out a cashback program that gives up to $0.24 per gallon on gas purchases. The offer applies at any station where the customer uses the Varo debit card, the company said.

The program works as a flat rebate, not a rotating category. Users get the full $0.24 back on every gallon, capped at a monthly limit Varo did not disclose. The cashback posts to the account within a few days of the transaction.

Varo is a mobile-first bank with no physical branches. It competes with Chime and other neobanks on fee-free checking and early direct deposit. The gas rebate is the first fuel-specific perk from a major U.S. neobank, according to a company spokesperson.

The offer runs through the end of the year. Varo said it may extend the program depending on usage.
