UWA picks SRM Technologies for Mumbai and Chennai campus IT build. Full digital stack — admissions, student info, finance, HR, networking — launches in five months for the 2026-27 academic year.
The University of Western Australia has picked SRM Technologies as the IT partner for its two new India branch campuses in Mumbai and Chennai, with the full digital stack to go live inside five months in time for the 2026-27 academic year.
The contract covers Admissions @Meritto, a Student Information System from @CamU, finance and human-resources modules from @uKnowa, plus campus networking, enterprise applications, IT infrastructure and managed support services. SRM will also run ongoing application management and infrastructure operations after launch.
"Education technology is one of our core strengths," SRM Technologies' Kannan Natarajan said in a statement. "We are proud to partner with UWA in building a world-class digital campus experience."
David Das, UWA India's chief operating officer, said the university needed a partner that understood both higher education and the technology layer. "SRM Technologies brings proven expertise in delivering integrated digital campus solutions," he said. "This partnership will ensure our campuses in Mumbai and Chennai are equipped with secure, scalable and future-ready technology from day one."
The accelerated deployment timeline – full environment in five months – is aggressive for a campus IT rollout that includes an entire student lifecycle system plus finance, HR, and networking. SRM runs a separate Education Technology Business Unit that the company says has become a differentiator for international universities setting up in India.
SRM also sits on the Victorian Government's School Software Panel in Australia, providing Unified School Management System solutions to K-12 schools there.
The University of Western Australia is ranked in the global top 100 and is a founding member of the Group of Eight, Australia's coalition of research-intensive universities. Admissions for the India campuses opened this week, with scholarships available.
