Utah Grief Nonprofit Passes 10,000 Children Helped

The Sharing Place, a Utah nonprofit that runs peer-support groups for grieving children and their families, said Monday it has passed 10,000 children and teens served since its founding roughly three decades ago.
The announcement came as the group opened its fourth location, in Washington County in the southwestern corner of the state. The new site joins existing centers in Millcreek, Taylorsville and Utah County.
"1 in 15 children in Utah will experience the death of a parent or sibling before age 18," Executive Director John Gold said in a statement. "For over 30 years, we've supported Salt Lake County families, and in recent years expanded to serve Utah County with our Pleasant Grove location. We are now honored to be able to expand our services of healing and hope to families in Washington County."
