USLM posted Q2 net income of $34.5M on $99.1M revenue as construction and steel demand lifted volumes. CEO Byrne sees data center projects sustaining growth. New Texas kiln due this summer.
United States Lime & Minerals reported second-quarter net income of $34.5 million, up 11.9% from a year earlier, as construction and steel customers drove higher volumes. Revenue rose 8.3% to $99.1 million, the company said.
The Dallas-based lime and limestone producer earned $1.20 a share on a diluted basis, compared with $1.07 a year earlier. For the first six months, net income was $65.1 million, or $2.26 a share, essentially flat with the $64.9 million, or $2.26 a share, in the same period of 2025.
Gross profit in the quarter increased 11.6% to $46.7 million. That gain came even as higher fuel and transportation costs partially offset the revenue growth. Selling, general and administrative expenses slipped 2% to $6.1 million, helped by lower stock-based compensation.
Interest income from higher average cash balances boosted other income to $3.4 million in the quarter, up from $3.1 million.
The revenue increase stemmed mainly from higher sales volumes, particularly to construction and steel customers. Demand from roof shingle manufacturers was weaker, the company said.
Timothy W. Byrne, president and chief executive officer, said in a statement that the company expects data center projects to continue supporting strong construction demand. He also said a new kiln at the company's Texas facility will come online this summer.
“We are pleased with the company’s financial performance in the second quarter 2026. Demand was up, compared to 2025, led by our construction and steel customers,” Byrne said.
The board declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of $0.06 a share, payable Sept. 11 to holders of record Aug. 21.
