Tens of thousands of people gathered in Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities on July 16 and again on July 17 to protest President Volodymyr Zelensky's decision to dismiss Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov while retaining Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi, according to a comment posted on AlphaScala. The commenter said the demonstrations continued a second day after Zelensky stated he "understands, hears, and responds" to public concerns. The commenter said those were words for the media, and that Zelensky ignored demands to reverse the dismissal.
The commenter alleged that Ukraine is a dictatorship and that the Western press will not report the protests. "We live in a dictatorship," the commenter wrote.
