
GROx AUM hit ₹3,003 crore, up 32% QoQ, as UGRO Capital's merchant lending platform crosses 3.4 lakh active customers. Company sees no further equity need through FY29.
UGRO Capital reported a sharp jump in its embedded merchant finance platform GROx during the first quarter of FY27, with disbursements hitting ₹1,853 crore for the three months through June 30, 2026. The platform, which now serves roughly 3.4 lakh active customers, is disbursing over 60,000 loans per month, the company said in a filing Tuesday.
GROx AUM rose to ₹3,003 crore, up 32% from ₹2,280 crore in the March quarter and nearly four times the level five quarters ago. The portfolio yields about 26% with gross non-performing assets at 2.1%, according to the filing.
Company-wide net disbursements reached ₹2,551 crore, up 59% year-on-year and 19% quarter-on-quarter. Profit before tax came in at ₹61.5 crore, up 28% from a year earlier. Net profit of ₹67.9 crore included a one-time deferred tax benefit from a shift to a new tax regime. Total AUM stood at ₹15,013 crore, up 24% year-on-year. Return on Assets improved to 2.8% and Return on Equity to 9.2%.
UGRO's Emerging Market branch network, now fully built at 317 branches across 13 states with over 2,500 employees, disbursed ₹592 crore during the quarter, taking its AUM to ₹3,896 crore.
The company said monthly disbursements crossed ₹1,000 crore in July 2026, its highest ever. UGRO exited lower-yielding third-party sourced Prime lending in February 2026 as part of a strategic realignment. Focused businesses now account for 46% of AUM against a target of 85% by FY29. Quarterly operating expenses fell 42% to ₹118.5 crore. The company said it expects no additional equity requirement through FY29.
