Trump threatens to strike Iranian power plants, bridges next week

US President Donald Trump escalated his rhetoric toward Iran, threatening to target the country's power plants and bridges next week if Tehran does not return to negotiations.

Oil markets took note. Iran has previously threatened to block the Strait of Hormuz, a chokepoint for about 20% of global crude flows, in response to pressure. Defense stocks climbed in after-hours trading. Crude oil futures edged higher.
