Toyota Finance opened a ¥1 billion blockchain bond at 1.72% through the Toyota Wallet app, bypassing brokers. Minimum investment is ¥100,000. The offering includes Fuji Speedway passes and Lexus test drives.
Toyota Finance launched a ¥1 billion blockchain-based bond on Tuesday, paying 1.72% annual interest over a one-year term. The digital security token is available through the Toyota Wallet app with a minimum investment of ¥100,000, cutting out traditional brokerage channels.
The offering runs through a partnership with Toyota Financial Services, SMBC Group, and BOOSTRY, the Japanese blockchain firm handling the distributed ledger infrastructure. Investors apply through a dedicated portal on Toyota's website; bonds are allocated by lottery after the subscription period closes.
The bond matures in twelve months. Toyota Finance set the aggregate size at ¥1 billion and the coupon at 1.72%. BOOSTRY administers the tokenized instrument on its own ledger framework.
Interested buyers download the Toyota Wallet payment and transport app to participate. No conventional brokerage account is required. Toyota Finance also dropped the prerequisite that applicants hold its TS CUBIC CARD.
Toyota Wallet serves as the single gateway for the bond. Toyota Finance handles applications, investor communications, and related functions inside that unified digital environment, giving the company direct control over customer interactions across the bond's lifecycle.
Qualified investors can earn Toyota Wallet QUICPay credits tied to the issuance. Those credits work at merchants inside the Toyota Wallet ecosystem. The offering also includes perks linked to Toyota's vehicle operations: spectator passes for Fuji Speedway events and curated test-drive sessions covering select Lexus, GR, and classic Toyota models.
This is Toyota Finance's second security token bond. The first launched in March 2025 through traditional securities firms. Strong investor demand prompted the company to restructure the second issuance as a direct offering, eliminating intermediary stages.
Toyota Finance said the direct-distribution model allows tighter coordination between application processing, investor relations, and benefit administration. Toyota Wallet now acts as the unified platform bridging the bond with payment capabilities and mobility services.
Toyota has explored other blockchain applications beyond corporate debt. Toyota Blockchain Lab previously tested blockchain-based vehicle identification systems and digital transport frameworks on Avalanche infrastructure. This bond, however, runs independently on BOOSTRY's security token architecture.
