Mutual fund managers spread their bets across market caps in July, with Torrent Pharmaceuticals leading large-cap purchases, Biocon topping the mid-cap list, and Diamond Power Infrastructure drawing the biggest small-cap inflow.
Data from Value Research, based on July 2026 versus June 2026 portfolio disclosures, shows active funds (excluding passive schemes) added the most value in Torrent Pharma. Fund managers bought shares worth ₹7,014 crore of the drugmaker, the largest single-stock purchase across all categories.
Axis Bank saw ₹3,522 crore in fresh buying, Kotak Mahindra Bank ₹3,262 crore, and Adani Enterprises ₹6,743 crore. SBI Funds Management and Union Bank of India also featured among the large-cap buys.
Mid-cap buying clustered around healthcare and consumer services. Biocon recorded the highest inflow at ₹3,234 crore. PB Fintech followed at ₹2,875 crore, while Lenskart Solutions and Swiggy each drew over ₹1,000 crore. Meesho saw buying worth ₹860 crore.
Small-cap purchases were led by Diamond Power Infrastructure at ₹1,605 crore. Jupiter Life Line Hospitals drew ₹1,126 crore and Sterlite Technologies ₹1,108 crore.
The July data shows fund managers rotated across sectors – pharma, banking, financial services, technology and consumer – without concentrating in any one market-cap segment.
