Tamko's HailGuard Shingles Offer First Hail Warranty

Tamko Building Products launched a hail-resistant asphalt shingle system it calls HailGuard, the company said. The shingles exceed Class 4 impact standards and carry a 160 mph wind warranty. Tamko backs them with what it describes as the residential roofing industry's first hail warranty.

The product arrives as hailstorms grow more frequent in Northern Colorado. The University of Colorado Boulder calls the region the hail capital of North America. Denver 7 News reported that climate change could worsen hailstorm patterns in the area.
