Sudarshan Chemical opens a 21,000 sq ft Frankfurt headquarters three months after acquiring Heubach Group, consolidating European operations in a specialty chemical hub.
Sudarshan Chemical Industries opened a second global head office in Frankfurt on June 9, doubling down on its European footprint less than three months after buying the Heubach Group. The 21,000-square-foot space at Schwalbach am Taunus sits about 11 km from the company's production site at Industriepark Höchst. The office is leased under Sudarshan Germany Horizons GmbH, the company's German operating entity.
Global Chairman Rajesh Rathi framed the move as a signal of intent. “The Frankfurt Hillsite Office is more than a new workspace – it is a clear signal of how important Germany and Europe are to our global ambitions,” Rathi said. “This office reflects the scale and direction of where we are headed.”
Chief Technology Officer Klaus-Dieter Baumgart, who also serves as managing director of Sudarshan Germany Horizons, added: “Frankfurt has always been central to our global operations, and this office is a testament to that. I am proud to lead our German operations from this new home – a strong foundation for everything we are building together.”
The pigment maker now runs parallel global headquarters in Pune, India, and Frankfurt. The company operates across 120 countries, with 19 manufacturing and R&D sites and roughly 3,900 employees. It counts more than 4,000 customers in coatings, plastics, inks, and cosmetics.
The Heubach acquisition, completed in March 2025, gave Sudarshan added capacity in organic and pearlescent pigments and a stronger European distribution network. Consolidating European leadership from Frankfurt – a hub for specialty chemical trading and logistics – is the natural next step. Investors will look for signs that the integration translates into margin improvement or cross-selling wins in coming quarters.
