Spider-Man Leak Reached 5.9M Accounts Before X Removed It

Spider-Man: Brand New Day opened in the U.S. on July 31, the same day the leak appeared. Early estimates project a global opening weekend between $465 million and $470 million. The film's theatrical performance has not shown an immediate effect from the leak.

Tom Holland reprises his role as Peter Parker in his fourth solo MCU film, the 38th in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The story takes place four years after Spider-Man: No Way Home. Peter Parker lives alone after choosing to erase himself from the memories of those closest to him. He continues protecting New York City while confronting a new threat that endangers his powers.

Destin Daniel Cretton directed the film. Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers wrote the script. The cast includes Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal, Florence Pugh, Tramell Tillman and Mark Ruffalo. Columbia Pictures, Marvel Studios and Pascal Pictures produced the project. The premiere was at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on July 27. India released the film on July 30.

The original leak has been removed. The seven-hour availability marks one of the longer windows for a major studio release to stay on X before takedown.
