The Smoked Taco opens its 8th Utah location July 8 in Sandy, featuring a new Nashville Hot Chicken taco for $4.95. The chain uses 12-hour smoked meats and cheese-crusted tortillas.
The Smoked Taco, a Utah-based barbecue-taco chain, will open its eighth location on July 8 at 11396 State St in Sandy, according to a company announcement. The opening includes a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. with the South Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Alongside the new store, the chain is launching a limited-time Nashville Hot Chicken taco for $4.95. The taco uses fried chicken, a spice blend, corn, chipotle ranch, slaw, pickles, and hot honey. “We’re excited to welcome The Smoked Taco to the South Valley Chamber of Commerce,” said Jay Francis, the chamber’s president and CEO, in the release.
The Smoked Taco smokes its meats for 12 hours and uses cheese-crusted tortillas. Co-owner TC Krueger said Sandy is a strong market for the concept. The chain also offers dine-in, takeout, online ordering, and third-party delivery.
Co-owner Brett Lewis said the chain is growing without cutting corners on flavor. “Every location has to deliver the same bold food, strong service, and personality that made people fans in the first place. Sandy is next up,” he said.
