SiriusPoint creates COO role, hires Emily Yoo from Zurich

SiriusPoint, the Bermuda-based specialty insurer and reinsurer, created a chief operating officer position and filled it with Emily Yoo, effective Aug. 10. She will be based in New York.

Yoo joins the executive leadership team with responsibility for technology, claims, transformation and operational performance. The company said the role was created to sustain a focus on strengthening business performance.

Most recently, Yoo led global operations, technology and transformation within Zurich's travel insurance unit. Earlier roles included Bain, Deloitte and Tokio Marine.

"Emily is a highly respected leader with deep industry experience and a strong track record," Chief Executive Scott Egan said. "Her appointment reflects the progress we've made as a business and our ambition for the future."
