Vanida Pillay, with 30 years of experience, becomes CEO of SeyRe Global, bringing ties in East and Central Africa, as well as Lusophone markets.
SeyRe Global promoted Vanida Pillay to chief executive officer, the Barbados-domiciled reinsurer said.
Pillay had been regional director for East and Central Africa, as well as Lusophone markets, at the company. She brings more than 30 years of experience in underwriting and broking, with earlier stints at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty and Aon Risk Services. She started her career at Aon in 2008, working on the Eskom account.
SeyRe Global, a Class 2 reinsurer, focuses on emerging markets. The promotion of a regional director from its African operations signals the company will continue to prioritize the region. The reinsurer is domiciled in Barbados and writes business across multiple jurisdictions, including parts of Africa that Pillay previously oversaw.
Pillay spent nearly two years as CEO of MNK RE South Africa before joining SeyRe Global. She also spent over a decade at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty as a senior engineering underwriter.
