Seventeen's Mingyu, Seungkwan, Dino to begin military service next month

Mingyu starts his service earlier, on Sept. 10, through alternative service. He will also take part in group activities beforehand. Pledis said there will be no official event on his start day or when he reports to the training center, and asked fans not to visit his alternative service location.

The three members will be unable to join Seventeen's activities once they begin service. Pledis said the group will keep releasing content recorded in advance. "They will continue to connect with Carat through a variety of content prepared in advance," the agency said, referring to Seventeen's official fandom. The company also directed fans to send messages through Weverse.

Seventeen debuted in 2015 and has 13 members, though only nine remain active after previous enlistments and departures. Jeonghan, another member, is already serving. The group's hits include "Adore U," "Don't Wanna Cry" and "Super."
