Saudi King Relieves Bandar Alkhorayef as Industry Minister

Saudi state media reported Saturday that King Salman bin Abdulaziz issued a series of royal orders, including the relief of Bandar Alkhorayef from his post as Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources. No replacement was named in the initial announcement. The orders were issued by royal decree, the media said.

Alkhorayef had held the portfolio since 2019, overseeing the expansion of Saudi Arabia's non-oil industrial base under the Vision 2030 plan. His departure comes as the kingdom pushes to boost private-sector participation in mining and manufacturing.
