Saudi Arabia issues, renews 274,000 commercial licenses in H1

Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Municipalities and Housing issued and renewed more than 274,000 commercial licenses during the first half of 2026, the ministry said.

The figure covers both new permits and renewals across the kingdom's municipal jurisdictions. MOMAH did not break out the split between new issuances and renewals in its announcement.

The licensing activity spans commercial, industrial, and professional categories regulated by municipal authorities. No prior-period comparison was provided in the release.

The ministry oversees municipal licensing through its digital platform, Balady, which handles applications and renewals online.
