Santander has brought back its $400 checking account bonus for customers in nine Northeast states, though the offer now carries a $5,000 balance requirement and a direct deposit condition.
The deal runs through Dec. 18, 2026. It covers account holders in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Delaware, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Florida.
The $400 tier requires a lower direct deposit threshold than the previous $500 bonus Santander offered. That earlier deal required a larger deposit to qualify.
