Samsung confirmed on July 16 that a red tint appearing on some Galaxy S26 Ultra screens stems from a calibration issue tied to the phone's new LED 2.0 OLED panel, not a hardware defect. The panel, which enables the Privacy Display feature, shifts color balance when run at maximum brightness under strong light for extended periods. The shift produces a reddish rectangle in the center of the screen.
Since July 14, Samsung has offered free software-based recalibration at authorized service centers. A broader over-the-air update is planned, though no release date has been set. Samsung said the issue is specific to the S26 Ultra, the only current model with Privacy Display.
