SAC Health bought a former Rite-Aid building in Victorville, California, to turn it into a medical clinic. The purchase gives the nonprofit its second location in the High Desert region, where nearly 150,000 Medi-Cal eligible patients live in the Victor Valley alone.
The new clinic, set for 14629 7th St., will offer primary and specialty care focused on Medi-Cal patients and families. The building will undergo a full renovation; SAC Health estimates the work will take about two years.
Looking ahead, this new clinic represents a vital step forward in bringing primary and specialty care directly to where High Desert families live," said Maryellen Westerberg, DrPH, RDN, Chief Operations Officer for SAC Health. "By establishing a closer, more accessible location in Victorville, we are looking forward to minimizing long travel barriers and creating a dedicated space for health, healing, and community partnership.
The Victorville site bridges a gap between SAC Health's existing clinics in San Bernardino and Barstow. Patients in the High Desert now drive 35 to 40 miles in either direction for care. The new location cuts that travel time sharply.
SAC Health said it has not set an opening date for the Victorville clinic.
