Rox Resources' Youanmi drilling returns 2.24m at 39.33 g/t gold, with development surpassing DFS plan. The company targets 150,000 ozpa by mid-2027.
Rox Resources (ASX: RXL) hit 2.24 metres at 39.33 grams per tonne gold from underground drilling at the Youanmi gold mine in Western Australia, extending mineralisation beyond the Definitive Feasibility Study mine plan, the company said.
The intercept from 220.7 metres down hole was part of a July program that completed 17 holes for 3,198 metres. Other results included 10.40 metres at 2.65 g/t including 4.37 metres at 4.96 g/t, and 5.00 metres at 6.39 g/t including 1.27 metres at 22.36 g/t.
Underground development reached 522 metres in July, comprising 350 metres of advance across three mining areas and 172 metres of stripping in the historical Youanmi Decline. Rox said those rates exceeded assumptions in the DFS.
Ore drive development on the 2356 and 2341 levels has moved beyond the DFS mine plan. A second ore drive on the 2341 level is returning face grades that could add near-term stoping opportunities, the company added.
Chief executive officer Phill Wilding said the results build confidence in mineralisation extending beyond the DFS. “Development drives are now progressing beyond the DFS mine plan, delivering encouraging face sampling results which are strengthening our confidence in mineralisation extending beyond that outlined in the DFS,” he said. “Combined, these results are setting the stage for the Youanmi gold mine to progress towards our aspiration of becoming a 150,000ozpa operation in future years.”
Secondary ventilation is in place for the Youanmi and Pollard declines. The initial primary ventilation circuit is operational at United North. Primary pump stations and escapeways are being installed ahead of production stoping, which Rox expects to begin in coming months.
Construction of the processing plant, designed for 1.0 million tonnes per annum, is on schedule. Concrete foundations are advancing. Screen plant and carbon-in-leach ring beams are complete. Work continues on the crusher, conveyor, fine ore bin, tunnel, and ball mill. CIL tank construction is underway. All long-lead equipment remains on schedule, Rox said.
Rox has signed a 10-year Power Purchase Agreement with Pacific Energy under a build-own-operate model. Pricing matches DFS assumptions. The facility will supply 25 megawatts of thermal generation and 26 megawatts DC of solar, with 2 megawatts of backup diesel and battery. Pacific Energy has mobilised to site.
The oxygen supply contract is the last outstanding major contract, with a preferred supplier selected and final negotiations in progress.
First gold from Youanmi remains targeted for mid-2027. Youanmi Deeps resource conversion and exploration drilling is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2026. Rox aims to have the mine infill drilled to 12 months ahead of mining by that date.
