Rémy Cointreau picks Monika Alcobev as its exclusive India distributor, folding a portfolio of cognacs, liqueurs and whiskies under a single national platform to accelerate premium-market growth.
Rémy Cointreau has appointed Monika Alcobev as its exclusive distribution and marketing partner across India, the companies said. The move consolidates the French spirits group's India business under a single national platform, replacing a patchwork of regional distributors.
The partnership covers Rémy Cointreau's full portfolio – Rémy Martin, Louis XIII, Cointreau, The Botanist, St-Rémy, Bruichladdich, Metaxa and Mount Gay. Monika Alcobev, which launched a ₹165.63 crore SME IPO on the BSE in July 2025, already handles over 100 imported labels and claims distribution reach from Delhi and Jaipur to Mumbai, Goa and Bangalore.
"Consolidating our presence across India with a single unified mandate and partner will undeniably strengthen our position on this market," said Ian McLernon, group chief markets officer at Rémy Cointreau. He said the company expects Monika Alcobev to build "an ambitious and sustainable growth plan" for the brands.
From Monika Alcobev's side, managing director Kunal Patel called the agreement a reflection of "shared commitment to long-term market development, premium consumer experiences, and the kind of transparency global brands increasingly expect from their India operations."
India's premium spirits market has grown steadily as import duties and state-level regulations create high barriers to entry. Global brands often rely on a single distributor with compliance infrastructure, warehouse networks and relationships across the hotel, restaurant and catering (HORECA) trade. Monika Alcobev positions itself as that partner for luxury alcohol brands looking to scale.
The transition is underway and will be completed over the coming months, the companies said. The agreement covers retail and HORECA channels.
Rémy Cointreau, which is listed on Euronext Paris and employs 1,783 people, reported annual revenue of roughly €1.2 billion in its most recent fiscal year. India accounts for a small share of that total, but the group has described the country as a long-term growth priority.
