Second FAST-41 designation for the Golden Gate tungsten project in Idaho sets up streamlined permitting and a 13,700m drill program with first results due by the end of July.
Resolution Minerals (ASX: RML) has secured Title 41 of the Fixing America's Surface Transportation Act (FAST-41) transparency coverage for the Golden Gate project inside its wholly owned Horse Heaven property in Idaho. The designation is the company's second under FAST-41; the Antimony Ridge target received the same status in April 2026. Both primary development targets at Horse Heaven now sit inside the federal framework.
The US Forest Service approved a plan of operations for Golden Gate that covers an exploration and development program including new roads between Golden Gate North and Golden Gate South, up to 340 drill holes, and 2,000 feet of trenching. FAST-41 provides structured coordination among federal agencies, defined permitting timelines, public milestone tracking, and dedicated oversight through the Permitting Council.
US operations chief executive officer Craig Lindsay said Golden Gate represented a key piece of the company's broader US critical minerals strategy. "I am not aware of any other critical metals company with two FAST-41 projects, which I believe is a mark of the potential importance of Horse Heaven in the US achieving its goal of developing domestic supplies of both antimony and tungsten," he said.
Lindsay also said the designation strengthens the backdrop for Resolution's planned NASDAQ listing and should support discussions with strategic partners and funding sources aligned with US critical minerals policy. The Forest Service intends to assess the Antimony Ridge and Golden Gate plans through a single process, which the company expects to streamline permitting across both targets.
Resolution is continuing a fully funded 13,700m drilling program at Golden Gate. Of a planned Phase 2 campaign of up to 45 holes, 22 have been completed. Initial results from the first several holes are expected by the end of July. The current program focuses on resource definition across the target. After the plan of operations approval, Resolution plans a larger campaign to expand drill coverage across Golden Gate North and Golden Gate South. That work will test the previously undrilled area between the two targets, where the company's geological model indicates they may form one large contiguous mineralised body.
The 15,000-acre Horse Heaven project sits directly beside Perpetua Resources' Stibnite gold project. Golden Gate includes the past-producing Golden Gate tungsten mine, which operated intermittently from about 1952 to 1980 with reported historical tungsten production grades ranging from 1.5% to 2.0%. The company's broader asset base includes the recently acquired Johnson Creek tungsten mill and historical tungsten stockpiles beside the mine portal and mill, providing potential near-term development options.
Lindsay emphasized that exploration, processing infrastructure, and multiple development pathways are now coming together at Horse Heaven. "We believe the company is uniquely positioned to capitalise on strong demand for antimony, tungsten, and gold," he said.
