Alpha Score of 68 reflects moderate overall profile with strong momentum, strong value, weak quality, moderate sentiment.
Resolution Minerals (ASX: RML) intersected broad gold mineralisation in the first three holes of a diamond drilling campaign at the Golden Gate South target in Idaho. The standout intercept was 305.7 metres at 0.64 grams per tonne gold, including higher-grade zones of 6.5m at 1.33 g/t and 17.25m at 1.19 g/t.
The results extend the mineralisation at least 2,000 metres south from Golden Gate North, confirming discovery status at Golden Gate South, the company said. Chief executive officer Craig Lindsay called the results "a very significant gold discovery" along the Golden Gate Fault Zone, noting the mineralisation appears to continue continuously northward.
Resolution is drilling up to 45 holes for a total 13,700 metres at the Golden Gate target, aiming to define the scale of gold-tungsten mineralisation at both Golden Gate South and Golden Gate North. The first three holes were drilled as fan holes from the same platform, intersecting variably foliated, sheared and faulted Cretaceous granodiorite of the Idaho Batholith.
Alteration was widespread, consisting mainly of sericite-pyrite replacement of mafic minerals and sericite-clay alteration of feldspars. Pyrite content increased within more intensely deformed and silicified intervals, supporting the company's interpretation that the Golden Gate Shear Zone provided a pathway for hydrothermal fluids.
Gold mineralisation was associated with arsenopyrite-pyrite in quartz veins and gouge shear zones in each hole. Anomalous silver assays were reported alongside base metals.
Golden Gate South has a history of exploration dating to the late 1970s, when a subsidiary of Canadian Superior Mining conducted a regional reconnaissance program around the Stibnite district. Surface mapping and trench sampling in 1980 identified scheelite and gold mineralisation. A systematic soil survey two years later demonstrated potential for significant geochemical zoning. A close-spaced soil and rock chip program by Stallion Gold Corp in 2021 confirmed structural controls associated with the Golden Gate Shear Zone and Vibika Creek fault.
The latest drilling program runs up to 45 holes, with assays from remaining holes pending.
