Red Hill Minerals kicks off 1,700m drill program at Broken Hill

Red Hill Minerals starts 1,700m diamond drilling at Furiosa copper-gold and Dementus lead-zinc-silver targets, testing for BHT-style mineralisation after 2025 surveys refined the structural model.
Red Hill Minerals (ASX: RHI) has started a 1,700-metre diamond drilling program targeting the Furiosa copper-gold and Dementus lead-zinc-silver prospects within its Broken Hill project in New South Wales.
The project sits about 30 km northwest of Broken Hill township, adjacent to the South Australian border, and forms part of the Curnamona Joint Venture. The largely under-explored 860 sq. km area is covered by thick sedimentary sequences but has significant potential to host Tier 1 lead-zinc-silver base metal and copper-gold systems, the company said.
“Furiosa is an exciting, previously untested copper-gold target where we will test for mineralisation along a highly prospective fault structure,” CEO Michael Wall said.
Wall said the company also looked forward to follow-up drilling at Dementus, where last year’s drilling intersected a 250-metre downhole interval containing anomalous lead and textures characteristic of a prospective Broken Hill Type (BHT) lode.
“Our team has since completed extensive gravity and AMT surveys to refine the follow-up drillhole location, and we are pleased to be back on the ground drilling,” he said.
The current program follows the company’s maiden 3,734-metre greenfields exploration diamond drilling program in 2025, which targeted prospective stratigraphic horizons for BHT lead-zinc-silver mineralisation. High-resolution gravity and audio-magnetotelluric (AMT) surveys completed after that program improved the company’s structural interpretation of the project area and informed the current drill-hole design.
The program comprises one planned hole at each of the Furiosa and Dementus targets.
RHI was steady at A$4.05 with a market capitalisation of A$260.1 million prior to markets opening.
The company holds a commodities analysis portfolio focused on base and precious metals in the Broken Hill region.
