RCRC starts Jeddah road bridges, first phase of 29-km project

The Royal Commission for Riyadh City has started building the Najm Al-Din Al-Ayoubi interchange bridges, an early piece of the larger Jeddah Road Development Project. The phase includes two main bridges carrying traffic in both directions plus two U-turn bridges, the RCRC said in a statement.
The full 29-kilometer project calls for 14 bridges and will widen the road to five main lanes each way. Capacity should rise past 350,000 vehicles a day, the commission said. Pedestrian bridges are also part of the design.
